Abe will be remembered for remaking Japan. Kingston says he succeeded in “reviving Japanese confidence and projecting a more confident, upbeat Japan,” following an asset price bubble collapse in the early 1990s that threw Japan into a period of economic stagnation known as “the Lost Decades.”
意訳：安倍氏は世界における日本の位置づけを変えた。
バブル崩壊のあとの失われた数十年のあとの日本に自信を取り戻し、さらなる自信を与えて、日本を明るくすることに成功した。
これが世界からの安倍氏の評価。
そしてこの記事はちゃんと「he was assassinated（彼は暗殺された）」と「死亡」ではなく「暗殺」という言葉を使っている点も着目。
ただし後半には「And despite Abe’s unparalleled power in modern Japanese politics, he was also unpopular with a lot of Japanese people.（安倍氏は近代の日本政治において比類なき政治力があったが、多くの日本人からは不人気であった）」とある。
多くの日本人から不人気で歴代最長の政権になるだろうか。どうしてもアベガーと言いたい一部の影響力がこの文章から伺える。
